Data Sharing

A DISCUSSION DOCUMENT TO SUPPORT THE ESTABLISHMENT OF GUIDELINES FOR INTERNATIONAL DATA SHARING

The animal selection genetics and genomic network (ASGGN) was developed to facilitate global communication and collaboration between researchers working on the effects of greenhouse gas emission in livestock. The network currently has ~200 members conducting research across species, industries and countries.

A key milestone for the network is to agree on a protocol for the sharing of data. This will aid validation, meta-analysis and collaborative research.

This Discussion document identifies key parameters that should be considered for the storage and subsequent sharing or dissemination of genetic and phenotypic information.
